Michael Paul - Partner & Accredited Family Law Specialist

Michael Paul has been an Accredited Family Law Specialist since the commencement of the New South Wales Law Society Scheme.

He has practiced extensively in Family Law and related commercial matters since 1968, well before the commencement of the Family Law Act, conducting many applications in the Courts without Barristers.

Michael was a consultant in Family Law to the Australian National University between 1977 and 1982, and to the NSW College of Law for some years, as well as being a member of the Family Law Committee of the Law Society of New South Wales for some 16 years.

Michael has published and presented papers on Family Law issues at legal conferences in Australia and abroad over the last 25 years and was a contributor to the Butterworths Family Law Service. He is also a member of the Family Law section of the Law Council of Australia.

Michael has recently become a Fellow /Member of the International Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (IAML).

Hugo Paul - Partner

Hugo Paul was admitted to practice law in 1998 having previously worked in the legal industry as a para-legal. He obtained a Bachelor of Laws degree with Honours from Bond University, Queensland and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the NSW College of Law. He also holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Land Economics) degree from the University of Technology, Sydney. Hugo qualified and worked as a commercial and residential property valuer before deciding to enter the law. He currently works primarily in the area of Family Law and De Facto relationships but has experience in Family Provision, Wills and Estates and Commercial and Property Law and Insolvency. Hugo is an Accredited Collaborative Lawyer, and is a member of Collaborative Professionals New South Wales. He has served on the New South Wales Young Lawyers Family Law Committee and is a member of the Law Society of New South Wales and the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia. Hugo currently holds an Unrestricted NSW Practising Certificate.

Carly Middleton - Partner & Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner

Carly Middleton is Partner of the firm. Carly has a Master of Law and Legal Practice from the University of Technology Sydney, is one of the first solicitors to graduate with a Master of Applied Law (Family Law) Degree from the College of Law and has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sydney University.

Carly has worked exclusively in Family Law for the past 5 years. Carly worked initially as a paralegal at this firm, then as a graduate solicitor and finally became a Partner of the firm in 2010. Carly has experience dealing with complex property cases involving family company structures and trust set ups as well as parenting cases.

Carly is a member of the Law Society of NSW, the Young Lawyers Family Law Committee, and the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia .

Carly is also a Registered Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, having undertaken extensive study in dispute resolution and mediation. Carly is very experienced assisting parties try to reach an amicable resolution of their parenting matters in an effort to avoid litigation.
